04:00 — Begin ascent to Acatenango summit
05:45 — Summit arrival; sunrise views; descent back to camp

08:30 — Begin descent

What fitness level is required?

Moderate to high. The hike involves steep terrain at altitude over two days. Prior hiking experience is helpful but not required.
